ENE Named a School

Established as a department within the College of Engineering in 2004, Engineering Education is now a school, following a February 8 vote by Purdue's board of trustees.

ENE Research Featured to the Community

Lafayette’s Journal and Courier ran the article “Inspiring Future Engineers” on November 7, featuring ENE faculty member Brenda Capobianco’s pilot study in elementary school classrooms. Engineering Education Welcomes First-Year Engineering Students

First-Year Engineering students who did not attend Day on Campus and are newly arrived to West Lafayette should attend one orientation meeting on Wednesday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m. in the Physics Building Room 223 or Friday, August 17, at 10:00 a.m. in the Mechanical Engineering Building, Room 161.

The First-Year Engineering advising office in Engineering Administration Room 212 will be open on Saturday, August 18, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Announcing Seed Grant Competition for Young Engineer Studies

Young Engineer Studies (YES) is an annual seed grant competition for funds to research issues and opportunities related to establishing engineering thinking in PreK-6 learners. The competition is open to Purdue faculty and research scientists. The submission deadline is April 14, 2007.

Trustees Honor ENE Professor

The Purdue board of trustees approved the appointment of Karl Smith as Cooperative Learning Professor in Engineering Education. Designated professorships honor individuals whose academic achievements have been internationally recognized or who have made a unique contribution to the university through scholarship, research, teaching or leadership functions.
