Last Thursday, we hosted the sixth annual Interdisciplinary Engineering Colloquium in the Kurz Atrium of Armstrong Hall. This year's theme centered on our collaboration with the College of Liberal Arts School of Visual and Performing Arts for Acoustics and Theatre Engineering.

The 2016 Engineering Gift Guide from Purdue University is filled with fun toys, games and applications to engage girls and boys ages 3-18 in engineering thinking and design.

ENE's Richard W. McDowell Best Counselor Award was presented to Suzi Coolbaugh-Walker (right) on May 12, 2016 for excellence in advising first-year engineering students.

It is of great honor that we introduce this year's Outstanding Alumni Honoree, Holly Simmons,1998 graduate from the Interdisciplinary Engineering Program (IDE). Holly used what she gained from Purdue’s Interdisciplinary Engineering program to make a positive difference in her chosen field and the millions of users whose lives have been enriched by the products that she has developed and marketed along her path. She is an excellent example of just what our students can accomplish when they combine an interdisciplinary outlook with a drive to contribute to the world around them.

Michele Yatchmeneff, PhD student in the School of Engineering Education (ENE), is one of two Alaskan Natives to begin a tenure-track in engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage this fall.
