The 2010 Women in Chemical Engineering Seminar was held on Saturday, April 10, in the Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering. Fifty-seven undergraduate and graduate women chemical engineering students, chemical engineering alumnae, and chemical engineering faculty and staff met to discuss and network on career choices, opportunities and challenges for women chemical engineers. The seminar was sponsored by Shell Oil Company.

A Purdue University researcher will lead a portion of a federally funded effort based at Iowa State University aimed at creating genetically engineered algae for environmentally friendly biodiesel production.

Purdue University will hold the inaugural Electric Vehicle Grand Prix on April 18 as part of a program to educate a new generation of highly skilled workers to design, build and service electric vehicles.

Rex Reklaitis, Burton and Kathryn Gedge Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, is the recipient of the 2010 George Lappin Award of AIChE.

An article co-authored by a Purdue ChE graduate student and two professors was highlighted on the Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation cover.
