Tony Mikos, (PhD ’88), the J.W. Cox Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, of Rice University is the recipient of the 2010 ASEE Meriam/Wiley Distinguished Author Award and the 2010 AIChE Food, Pharmaceuticals and Bioengineering Award.

Jason Wu, Senior; Sara Yohe, Graduate Student; Laura Quock (BS 2009) and Talal Al-Housseiny (BS 2007) are among the recipients of the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowships announced in April 2010.

Brian Lowry, ChE Senior graduating in May 2010, won the 1st Place in the Undergraduate Student Poster Competition at the ASEE IL/IN Sectional Conference held at Purdue in April.

Sarah Atanasov, ChE Senior graduating in May 2010, won the first place at the 2010 Regional AIChE Paper Competition.

Assistant Professor Yue Wu received a 2010 Young Professor Grant from DuPont. The recipients receive an unrestricted grant of $25,000/ year for three years, starting summer 2010. The purpose of this program is to help young faculty members, within five years of full-time appointment, begin their research careers.
