Dr. Indrajeet Chaubey has been selected to receive the 2012 Purdue University Agricultural Research Award. This is the highest honor awarded to mid-career faculty members through the office of the Associate Dean of Research, College of Agriculture. Dr. Chaubey receives the award in recognition of the exceptional contributions he has made in the field of soil and water engineering.

Professor Indrajeet Chaubey has been elected to the Nominating Committee of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers as the International Division representative.

Dr. John Lumkes has been selected to receive the first Global Engineering Program "Global Engineering Impact Award." The award is granted in recognition of his commitment to providing global learning opportunities for Purdue College of Engineering students, his leadership in the development of partnerships and programs with global impact, and his demonstration of campus-wide, national, and global engagement.

In Florida, US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack headed the “Top 100 People in Bioenergy” as voted by the readers of Biofuels Digest and the Digest’s editorial board, just edging out BP Biofuels chief Philip New, and the heads of Raizen, POET, Solazyme and Amyris.
