2025 Recipients
Alex Jordan

Alex Jordan | Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Associate Technical Fellow, The Boeing Company
Alex Jordan's rise at the Boeing Company has been characterized by taking on leadership roles often reserved for more senior engineers. In January 2025, he became one of the company's youngest associate technical fellows when he was promoted within the Vibration, Shock and Acoustics Division. On NASA's Artemis Space Launch System rocket, he pioneered a new way to predict how chaotic, unsteady airflow can shake a vehicle during launch, solving a crucial safety challenge. When Boeing's Starliner encountered a mission-critical issue during testing, he led a rapid-response engineering team under intense public scrutiny. His actions prevented costly delays and safeguarded the spacecraft's crew. Both projects faced program-ending risks for which multiple vice presidents specifically appointed Jordan to utilize his one-of-a-kind analytical skills to resolve the issues.
He has contributed to the X-66 Sustainable Flight Demonstrator, helping design a revolutionary truss-braced wing for greener aviation. In addition, he has supported the U.S. Navy's Orca autonomous submarine program to ensure this first-of-its-kind vessel can operate safely during missions. He authored key technical sections of Boeing's proposal for DARPA's SX-1 Phantom Express spaceplane, directly contributing to his company winning the $146 million contract.
This year, he was selected as the Boeing Defense, Space and Security Technical Lead Engineer of the Year. In 2023, he was authorized as a Boeing Designated Expert in vibroacoustics, and in 2019, he was tapped for Leadership NeXt, the company's exclusive two-year program for high-potential talent focused on executive mentorship, community service, and high-impact projects.
