On April 5th, during Engineering Week, Purdue held its first Engineering Bowl, a quiz game show styled event that was hosted by the Purdue Engineering Presidents' Council. This event was created to bring the various engineering disciplines together to showcase their brilliant students in a fun, yet competitive way.

Monday April 24th, 2023, Purdue University's Alpha Nu Sigma held a banquet to induct 10 undergraduate and 7 graduate students into the prestigious honor society.

As numerous African governments envision nuclear energy as an important part of their future energy strategies, the NEA is increasingly engaged in discussions with them on how to help build sustainable economic development. During the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the NEA jointly held an event with the OECD Development Centre and the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE) to explore capacity building in nuclear energy-related skills, businesses, and policies. The event was part of a new Common Journey initiative, which is designed to support African countries that choose to develop safe and sustainable nuclear energy programmes with a focus on building co-operative frameworks among ministries, universities and private industry to enhance skills and opportunities.

The spirit of innovation propelling Purdue alumnus Neil Armstrong’s giant leap for mankind continues to drive Purdue’s College of Engineering community. With the launch of the newest Purdue Engineering initiative — Leading Energy-Transition Advances and Pathways to Sustainability (LEAPS) — the university is stepping up to a new level of research and education innovation that will cross disciplines, link campus expertise, and empower future engineers and entrepreneurs.
