Phillip Forsberg, Stylianos Chatzidakis and Tom Adams, three Purdue University graduate research students, won the 2013 ANS student conference best paper award.
The Outstanding Research Award goes to students who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in research through publications, participation in professional organizations and willingness to mentor others. The Outstanding Service Scholarship is presented to engineering graduate students who have provided outstanding service to the graduate student community, the School, the College, and/or the University.

January 28, 2013 distinguished researchers from around the world held their first meeting of the Purdue University PIRE Project. The meeting was held on the Purdue University campus in the School of Nuclear Engineering.
A banquet was held in honor of Dr. Bement in Recognition of Extraordinary Leadership, Distinguished Performance, Outstanding Contribution and Great Service to the School of Nuclear Engineering.
