Obtaining real-world experience outside the classroom is just one factor as to what established a well-rounded education. Seniors in the School of Nuclear Engineering receive exactly that during their industry-sponsored senior design class. Thank you to our sponsors in providing our students with opportunities for culminating design experiences with real-life problems. This year we had seven teams presenting industry sponsored and mentored design projects:

D'Aloia, a native of Centerville, Ohio, who is to receive a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering, will be the student responder in the Division VI ceremony. He is one of five graduating seniors to earn the inaugural 2020 Purdue Engineering Fellowship.

The School of Nuclear Engineering is pleased to announce Assistant Professor Robert Bean as the recipient of the 2020 Best Teacher Award. This award is presented annually to an outstanding teacher in the Purdue University School of Nuclear Engineering, selected by its student body for excellence in teaching.

Congratulations to Dr. Mamoru Ishii, the Walter Zinn Distinguished Professor of Nuclear Engineering, on being among the 25 scientists and researchers to be inducted into Purdue Innovator Hall of Fame!

Every year the College of Engineering recognizes staff with Awards of Excellence. On December 6, 2019, Robert Bean, David Storz, and Clive Townsend received the Team Award for their work on the Purdue University Reactor Number One (PUR-1).

Dr. Shripad T. Revankar received the Thermal Hydraulics Division Technical Achievement Award from the American Nuclear Society (ANS) for the year 2019.
