Professor Carol Handwerker, Reinhardt Schuhmann Jr. Professor of Materials Engineering, Fellow of TMS, ACers and ASM, testified to Congress at the US House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology hearing on Research and Innovation to address the Critical Materials Challenge.

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. John R. Radavich, an MSE alum, and longtime faculty member in the School, passed away on November 29, 2019. His contributions to the school will live on in perpetuity, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time

Now, Purdue University scientists have come up with patented techniques that may cut down the risk from these popular batteries, which are found in everyday devices such as phones and tablets.
