Materials Student Awarded Prestigious TMS Scholarship

Our very own Karen Lynch has been given a TMS Scholarship Award in the Structural Materials Division. The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society will present Karen with her award with a complimentary trip to the annual TMS meeting.

This award is available to undergraduate students majoring in metallurgical and/or materials science and engineering with an emphasis on the science and engineering of load-bearing materials, including studies into the nature of a material's physical properties based upon its microstructure and operating environment.

"This is a great honor for Karen," Dr. David Gaskell, Professor of the School of Materials Engineering, said. "This scholarship recognizes that Karen is a truly outstanding student of materials science and engineering in the United States." The entire School of Materials Engineering is proud of you Karen.
