Controlling 'shear-band' defects in manufacturing processes
An international team of researchers has invented a method to control the formation of defects called "shear bands" in metals manufacturing processes and discovered microscopic details of how the defects are created. IE Professor Srinivasan Chandrasekar works with Professor Kevin P. Trumble of Materials Engineering on the project.

Purdue Industrial Engineering held the first-ever combined undergrad-graduate student Career Fair on September 12 in Grissom Hall’s Student Excellence Center. Twelve companies and over 300 students participated.

Kenley receives INCOSE Fellows Award
Robert Kenley, an associate professor of engineering practice in industrial engineering, received a Fellows Award from the International Council on Systems Engineering. He was one of two researchers recognized in July for their "significant contributions to systems engineering."
