Call for Papers - 7th International Conference on Manufacturing
Research (ICMR’2009), September 08 - 10, 2009, University of
Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom.
Sponsored by the
UK Consortium of Manufacturing Engineering Heads (COMEH),
UK Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC),
The International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP)
For over two decades the Conference has been the main manufacturing
research conference organized within the UK, successfully bringing
researchers, academics and industrialists together to share their
knowledge and experiences. The conference is organized by the
Consortium of UK Manufacturing Engineering Heads (COMEH). COMEH is
an independent body established in 1978. Its main aim is to promote
manufacturing engineering education, training and research. To
achieve this, the Consortium maintains a close liaison with
government bodies concerned with the training and continuing
development of professional engineers, while responding to
appropriate consultative and discussion documents and other
initiatives. COMEH is represented on the Engineering Professor’s
Council (EPC) and it organizes and supports national manufacturing
engineering education research conferences and symposia.
The conference topics are grouped in the following main themes:
Digital Technologies (Virtual Engineering and Manufacturing
Simulations, Enterprise Integration and Virtual Enterprises, Factory
Planning and Control, Product Life-cycle Management, Rapid Product
Development and Manufacture, CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP/ERP, Robust design,
quality Engineering and data mining, E-design, E-Manufacture and E-
business)
Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (Manufacturing Systems,
Intelligent Design and Manufacture, Precision Engineering and
Nanotechnology, Rapid Product Development and Manufacture, Assembly
Processes, Design Optimisation, Healthcare applications)
Enterprise Management (Lean and Agile Manufacturing, Product
Lifecycle Management, Enterprise Design and Knowledge Management,
Innovation Management, Performance Measurement and Benchmarking;
Service Science and Engineering; Quality Engineering and Data Mining)
Advanced Materials and Processes (Sustainable Materials, Materials
Modelling, Surface Treatment, and Advanced Materials and Processes)
Manufacturing Education
The selected papers will be considered for publication in Special
issues of the following journals:
- Proceedings of I MECH E Part B, Journal of Engineering Manufacture
- Journal of Manufacturing Systems
- International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology
- Journal of Manufacturing Technology Research.
The papers submitted to the IMRC’2009 will compete for the Best
Paper Award. Additionally, papers where a student is a primary
author are eligible to compete for the Best Student paper Award.
Please note that the deadline for the submission of papers is March
31, 2009 (on-line).
Anyone interested in conducting a workshop, tutorial or special
session during the conference, please contact conference chair,
Darek Ceglarek ([email protected]).
More detailed information about the scope and contents of the
conference are posted at http://go.warwick.ac.uk/icmr09 .
We plan to organize Industrial tours (Jaguar and Land Rover),
Special Sessions featuring international funding bodies promoting
global research and education collaboration, major European and
international Initiatives (ManuFUTURE, IMS and others). We will
also organize Best Paper competition; and Best Student Paper
Competition.
The IMRC’2009 Conference is organized in the Heartland of England
(William Shakespeare’s birthplace; place where the first steam
engine was developed by Boulton and Watt; the world's first cast
iron bridge was built; birthplace of the British cycle and motor
industry; Warwick castle - the largest medieval castle in UK;
birthplace of Rugby game; and Bull Ring – one of the largest and
busiest shopping centers in the United Kingdom and many other
attractions).
We look forward to your contributions to the ICMR'09.
Yours sincerely,
