Professor David Corti was selected to attend the 3rd Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium be held November 13 - 16, 2011, at the National Academies' Beckman Center in Irvine, CA. Participation in the symposium is based on application and rigorous selection process by the organizing committee.

Rakesh Agrawal, the Winthrop E. Stone Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, and Doraiswami Ramkrishna, the Harry Creighton Peffer Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, have been elected as Foreign Fellows of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

Dr. Jeffrey J. Siirola will join Purdue ChE as Professor of Engineering Practice, starting this Fall semester, at the 50% FTE level. His responsibilities are to teach the senior capstone Design course, to be involved with the Global Policy Research Institute and faculty in the energy/sustainability areas, and to serve as a resource in our planning efforts in his areas of expertise, including manufacturing.

Christopher Bowman (BS ChE ‘88, PhD ’91), is recipient of the 2011 Professional Progress Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
