Research completed by Associate Professor Dr. Vilas Pol and his graduate students has been selected as a finalist for the 2016 R&D 100 Awards, to be announced on November 3, 2016, in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Phillip C. Wankat was selected as the recipient of the AIChE 2016 Warren K. Lewis Award for Chemical Engineering Education.

Chemical Engineering graduate student Emre Gencer was selected as the recipient of the AIChE Process Development Student Paper Award for 2016 and as one of three recipients of 2016 Sustainable Engineering Forum Student Paper Awards through the AIChE.

Dr. Vilas Pol, associate professor in the School of Chemical Engineering, was selected as the recipient of the 2016 AIChE Sustainable Engineering Forum Research Award for his work with upcycling technologies for plastic.

Dr. Arvind Varma, the R. Games Slayter Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Jay and Cynthia Ihlenfeld Head of the School of Chemical Engineering, will receive the 2016 Arden L. Bement Jr. Award. The award is Purdue’s top honor in pure and applied science and engineering.
