Dr. Vilas Pol, associate professor in the School of Chemical Engineering, was selected as the recipient of the 2016 AIChE Sustainable Engineering Forum Research Award for his work with upcycling technologies for plastic.

Dr. Arvind Varma, the R. Games Slayter Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Jay and Cynthia Ihlenfeld Head of the School of Chemical Engineering, will receive the 2016 Arden L. Bement Jr. Award. The award is Purdue’s top honor in pure and applied science and engineering.

The university honored Professor Phillip Wankat, the Clifton L. Lovell Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering and Engineering Education, with a Morrill Award for excellence in teaching, research and engagement.
