Dr. Linda Wang, the Maxine Spencer Nichols Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, received the Gold Award from Purdue Foundry for her recent presentation, "Rare Metals and Elements from Coal Ash in the Rare Metal Age." The talk was part of the Purdue Foundry 2017 Entrepreneur Leadership Academy.

Davidson School of Chemical Engineering Professor Jeffrey Greeley and his research team at Purdue University have recently published a paper in the journal Nature Energy. The paper, "Stabilization of Ultrathin (Hydroxy)oxide Films on Transition Metal Substrates for Electrochemical Energy Conversion," focuses on Greeley's research of atomic-level features of ultrathin (hydroxy)oxide films on metal substrates and demonstrates that these films exhibit both excellent stability and activity for electrocatalytic applications.

Dr. Rajamani Gounder, the Larry and Virginia Faith Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, has been selected to the inaugural Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) for the journal of the American Chemical Society, ACS Catalysis.

Dr. Arvind Varma, the R. Games Slayter Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, has been awarded the 2017 Giulio Natta Medal in Chemical Engineering. This distinction is presented to Dr. Varma in recognition of his "outstanding contributions to the science of chemical and material engineering, for his professional achievements in guiding major institutions, and for his efforts in advising students and younger colleagues at various levels in their academic careers."

Dr. Michael T. Harris, Associate Dean of Engineering for Undergraduate Education and the Robert B. and Virginia V. Covalt Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University, has been selected as Fellow Member in the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Dr. Harris was selected for his outstanding contributions to ASEE and the field of engineering education.
