Graduate Students Tao Qu and Yang Zhang Receive NSF Fellowships
Graduate Students Tao Qu and Yang Zhang have both been awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship to the attend Summer Institute Course of Novel Super-Resolution Methods for Bioimaging. The short course will take place April 27-28 in San Diego.
Both students work in image based mechanics measurement area using a technique pioneered in advisor Dr. Vikas Tomar's Interfacial Multiphysics Lab. For this purpose a unique combination of molecular simulations with thermomechanical measurements is used and applied.
Selection to such fellowship is highly competitive with nearly 10% of the students applying for it getting selected in the end. It is expected that based on such workshop and ensuing discussions students will further evolve the technology
