Congratulations to AAE grad student Brandon Terry who has been awarded The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship and became a father - all on the same day.

On the very day that Brandon received the notification of the NDSEG Fellowship, Brandon’s wife DeLenna Terry gave birth to their first baby, a daughter, Taylor Maud Terry. Taylor was born on Monday April 16, 2012 at 8:50pm. She was 8lb 15 oz. and was 22 inches long. Brandon and DeLenna moved to Purdue from Utah in order for him to pursue his Ph.D. in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics and to be able to concentrate on propulsion research at Zucrow Laboratories.

The NDSEG is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines. NDSEG confers high honors upon its recipients, and last for three years and pay for full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend, and up to $1,000 a year in medical insurance.

The NDSEG Fellowship is sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research(AFOSR), the Army Research Office (ARO), the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCM), and the Office of Naval Research (ONR), under the direction of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E).
