Congratulations to Rashmi Shah who has been awarded the 2012 PGSG Graduate Student Excellence Award in Doctoral Category.
The Graduate Student Excellence Award recognizes outstanding scholarship and professionalism by Graduate Students at Purdue University. The award is given to one Master’s student and to one Ph.D. student who exemplify excellence in the three missions of Purdue University: Discovery, Engagement, and Learning.
This award is sponsored by the Purdue Graduate Student Government (PGSG) and is awarded by the Academic and Professional Development Committee.
Selection Criteria
• Discovery Achievements. Applicant must demonstrate excellence in research, technical awards, patents, publications, co-ops/internships, etc.
• Learning Achievements. Applicant must demonstrate how they participate in the Learning mission of Purdue. Teaching assistantships, awards, honors, etc. may be used as evidence
• Engagement at Purdue University. Applicant must demonstrate a high level of engagement in both their department as well as Purdue University as a whole.
• Engagement in the Community. Applicant should exhibit community involvement, including volunteer work and projects that benefit the community.
• Organizational Involvement. Student organizations and clubs, honor societies and organizations, departmental organizations, professional organizations, etc. all contribute to professional excellence.
