Purdue CubeSat is an interdisciplinary project to design, build, and launch Purdue University's first satellite. This team effort has been underway for 3 years, with the current team comprised of 10 undergraduate and graduate students. The Purdue CubeSat is classified as a pico-satellite and resembles a cube approximately 10 centimeters per side with a one kilogram gross mass. Upon completion (projected for 2007), the spacecraft will be launched aboard a Russian Dnepr or similar launch vehicle, in conjunction with the Cal Poly/Stanford CubeSat program.
Every year since NASA began the Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunity Program (RGSFOP) in 1996 Purdue AAE students have participated with winning research proposals and original student-built experiments.

SEDS is an independent, student based organization, which promotes the exploration and development of space. The original chapter of SEDS was founded at MIT in 1980 while the Purdue Chapter was established on the 7th of December, 1994. Presently Purdue SEDS has 55 active members. Purdue SEDS believes in a space-faring civilization and that focusing the enthusiasm of young people is the key to our future in space.

Acoustic Emission Testing is the sixth volume in the Nondestructive Testing Handbook series, now in its third edition and published by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing in August 2005. The co-technical editors for this book include Eric V.K. Hill, a professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Ronnie K. Miller, a Purdue graduate (B.S.A.E. 73, M.S.A.E. 75 and Ph.D. 79), who was the sole technical editor for Acoustic Emission Testing, Volume 5, 2nd Edition, Nondestructive Testing Handbook series.
