The Access & Success Campaign was announced in April 2008. Student Access & Success is one of the major goals in the university's strategic plan, which was introduced at the April 11 board of trustees meeting and presented for approval in June 2008.
Engineers, including AAE faculty, and food scientists are teaming up to develop a new type of gelled fuel the consistency of orange marmalade designed to improve the safety, performance and range of rockets for space and military applications.
The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics welcomes new faculty member Dr. Karen Marais (Carr´-en Muh-ray´). She joins the school as Assistant Professor in the aerospace systems group beginning in the spring of 2009.
The Aero Assault Flag Football Team, consisting of Matt Conway, Adam Lavely, Steve Skare, Tom Juliano, Brad Wheaton, Tom Pavlak, Justin Rubal, Derek Hazen, Ross Winegar, and Isaac Tetzloff, beat the Sally Slappers from the Chemistry Department to take the title on November 11th!

Astronaut Mark L. Polansky, an AAE graduate, will speak on campus Friday, Nov. 7, in an event that is free and open to the public. Polansky will talk about his experiences as an astronaut during the 8 p.m. talk in Wetherill Hall, Room 104. He will be on campus to participate in Purdue's annual Space Day on Saturday, Nov. 8.
