Professor Li Qiao and her Ph.D. student Yanan Gan won the Second Place Prize for the 2010 Combustion Art Competition of the Combustion Institute for their work "Flame, Gone with Butterfly."

Professor Li Qiao has received the Army Research Office (ARO) Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award for her proposal "Ignition and Burning Behavior of Fuel Droplets with Energetic Nanoparticle Addition."

AAE Graduate Student, Dean Bryson, wins Best Paper Award at 51st AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference
Dean Bryson, a Masters Student under Dr. Terry Weisshaar, graduating this May, presented "Aeroelastic Optimization of a Two-Dimensional Flapping Mechanism" to claim the Best Paper Award.
