Purdue researchers working on missile-defense software

Daniel DeLaurentis, an associate professor in Purdue University's School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Saurabh Bagchi, a professor in Purdue's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, are working with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to help the United States foil enemy missile attacks.

Science is harnessing shock waves to create new materials

Professor Wayne Chen and Professor Steven Son (by courtesy) are co-leaders of a group of researchers at Purdue University that are part of a national effort to develop new materials having super strength and other properties by using shock waves similar to those generated by meteorites striking the Earth.

Purdue's Summer Commencement

The summer commencement ceremony at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus will be broadcast live for television and Internet audiences.

The event, which will feature graduates wearing new environmentally friendly attire, will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 3), in the Elliott Hall of Music and will be aired live on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 13.

NASA Aeronautics Scholarships 2013

Congratulations to five Purdue students who are among 25 from across the country selected to receive NASA Aeronautics Scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year. Four are from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics and one is from Mechanical Engineering.
