In its 40th Annual Salute to Women on March 4, 2014, the Greater Lafayette YWCA presented Leah Jamieson, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering, the Mary Keller Ade Woman of Wisdom Award.

The replica hypersonic space plane, called the X-20 Dyna-Soar, was unveiled in October. It was a gift to the College of Engineering from Boeing Co., which developed it through a U.S. Air Force program to create a manned, military space plane.

Michael D. Sangid, assistant professor of aeronautics and astronautics has received a grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) through its Young Investigator Program (YIP) award.

On February 21^st, the College of Engineering will honor Andrea M. Chavez (BSAAE '88) and Jim Miller (BSAAE '86) as two out of ten Engineering Alumni who are distinguished in their engineering careers. The College of Engineering has over 85,000 living alumni. The distinction of DEA has been bestowed upon 489 of the outstanding individuals.

The model of the Boeing X-20 was lifted into position in the atrium of the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering on Friday January 10.

Prof. Steven Collicott's AAE418 "Zero-Gravity Flight Experiments" class submitted an original research proposal to NASA in October, 2013. It was announced on December 18, 2013 that they were selected by NASA's Reduced Gravity Education Flight Program as one of the best proposals submitted this year.
