AAE Professor Bill Anderson recently gave an Expert Talk and presented a paper at the International Symposium on Thermoacoustic Instabilities in Gas Turbines and Rocket Engines at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Technical University of Munich.

AAE graduate student Robert Rolley has been awarded an Indiana Space Grant Consortium (INSGC) Fellowship for the 2016-2017 academic year. Rolley is a Masters student under Visiting Assistant Professor Sarag Saikia.

Purdue AAE Associate Professor Karen Marais is a member of a National Research Council (NRC) committee that recently issued a report called “Reducing Global Carbon Emissions” that recommends a national research agenda designed to lessen the impact commercial aviation has on climate change.

PhD candidates Sergii Kravchenko and Cheolhyeon Kwon have received the 2016 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship Award, which is awarded to outstanding PhD candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion.

AAE PhD student Andrew Strongrich won the Dr. Thomas Jennings Award for best poster presentation at the International Society of Lyophilization-Freeze Drying Conference in Chicago on April 14, 2016.

AAE PhD student Cesare Guariniello is the recipient of the 2016 Diamond Award from Purdue’s Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS). The annual award recognizes a graduating student who, like coal, is put under a lot of pressure to emerge a “diamond.”
