Priority: | No |
If you are looking for funding source during summer 2026, we welcome and invite you to teach for Purdue’s Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute (GER2I) in our 1-, 2- or 4-week Summer Residential Camps (SRES), June 28 - July 25, 2026, for students with high ability in 5th-12th grades.
We are seeking high-quality educators with experience in the STEM fields and/or the humanities to design their own course (30 hours of instruction) to share their expertise with our campers. Teachers who participate in our camps encounter some of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of their careers. We receive high-ability students that are highly motivated to explore an area of personal interest. They can typically master content two to three years above grade level and require accelerated or enriched learning opportunities in order to meet their full potential. The courses we offer are designed to accomplish the following:
• Expose students to new areas of study and career possibilities,
• Present innovative content at an appropriately accelerated pace,
• Develop independent or self-directed study skills,
• Promote advanced thinking skills, and
• Engage students in high-level projects and experiments.
If you are interested in this opportunity to interact with students with high ability, please complete this teacher application (https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0PNCv028itOjT0y). The deadline for proposing a course for the Summer Residential Program is Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Please note that you do not have to submit full lesson plans with the application. If you are new to our program, we will schedule an interview with you to learn more about your course as well as contact your references.
If you have any questions about becoming an instructor, or if you would like more information about our camp, please feel free to contact Brendha Tanujaya, SRES Program Coordinator, at [email protected] or [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Brendha C. Tanujaya
